- Identification on Sails
H1 ISAF International Class Boards
H1.1 Identification
Every board of an ISAF International Class or Recognized
Class shall carry on her mainsail
(a) the insignia denoting its class,
if required by its class rules;
(b) at all international events, except
when the boards are provided to all competitors, national
letters denoting the competitor's national authority from
the table below. For the purpose of this rule, international
events are ISAF events, world and continental championships,
and events described as international events in their notices
of race and sailing instructions;and.
(c) a sail number of no more than
four digits allocated by the competitor's national authority.
H1.2 Specifications
(a)
National letters and sail numbers shall be in capital letters
and Arabic numerals, clear legible and of the same colour.
Commercially available typefaces giving the same or better
legibility than HELVETICA as illustrated below are acceptable.

(b)
The sizes of characters and
minimum space between adjoining characters on the same and
opposite sides of the sail shall be Minimum Height 230mm,
Minimum space between characters 45mm.
H1.3
Positioning
(a)
The sail number, including the national letters where applicable,
assigned to the competitor using the board shall be displayed
above the midline of the sail. They shall be placed at different
heights on the two sides of the sail, those on the starboard
side being uppermost.
(b) The
class insignia or the logo of the manufacturer, where applicable,
shall be placed above the sailnumbers.

and Penalties
When a protest committee
finds that a board has broken a rule of this appendix it shall
either warn it and give it time to comply or penalize it.
