4.
HULL
Boards shall be measured in metric units.
4.1
The hull must be part of a production run of not less than
300 units produced from the same mould using the same construction
specification within normal manufacturing tolerances, agreed
by the manufacturer with the ISAF. No
alterations or additions to the board as supplied by the manufacturer
are permitted except where specifically stated in the Class
Rules. In the case of boards less than 263mm long, the minimum
production run shall be 150 units
4.2
Length and width: The hull
must not exceed 3950mm in length and the width must not exceed
850mm.
4.3
Depth.The following
applies to hulls which are not less than 3150mm long. At any
section the depth shall not be more than 190mm measured from
the fair deckline to the underside. At any section within
350mm of the bow or the stern, the depth shall be not more
than 125mm.
4.4
Weight: The
board including mast track, centreboard case and skeg boxes
shall weigh in a dry state not less than 95% of that official
weight for that board registered with the ISAF. The measurer
shall immediately report to the IFCA any board which does
not comply with this requirement to the IFCA.
4.5
Stiffness.
The stiffness of the board measured in accordance with the
ISAF measurement procedure shall not be more that 110% of
the official stiffness for that board registered with the
ISAF. The measurer shall immediately report any board which
does not comply, to the IFCA.
4.6
Only
series production mast steps and centreboard case gaskets
may be used.
4.7
Filler
or tape may be used at the seams between centreboard case,
gaskets and skeg box and the board. Any other use of these
materials on the board is forbidden, except as mentioned in
Rule 6.
4.8
The
graphics of a board must include the brand name and model
name of the board. Any change to the graphics requires re-registration
of the board with the ISAF.
5. CENTREBOARDS
Only the series production
centreboard(s) for the board is allowed.
6.
REPAIRS
6.1
Repairs may be carried out to the hull and centreboard
to restore them to the original condition and shape.
6.2
Mast Track and Centreboard Case - The mast track
and centreboard case may be replaced if worn or damaged but
the position and type shall not be changed.
6.3
Skeg Box - When a skeg box is damaged, it may
be replaced with a similar skeg box, provided that it does
not allow skegs of a different type to be fitted and/or does
not allow the skeg(s) to be fitted in a different position.
6.4
Centreboard Case Gaskets - A damaged gasket
maybe replaced with a gasket of the same or similar material
to that originally supplied by the board's manufacturer.
7.
RIG
The board must be fitted with a free sail system.
A free sail system is a swivel mounted mast, boom and sail,
not supported in a permanent position while sailing, other
than by the sailor.
8.
SAIL
There are no restriction on the size, material
or construction of the sail.
9.
SAIL (COMPETITOR) NUMBER
9.1
The sail number assigned to the competitor using
the board shall be displayed above the midline of the sail,
on both sides, in numbers not less than 230mm high.
9.2
The starboard numbers shall be higher than the
port, and they shall be in a colour contrasting to the colour
of the sail.
10.
MANUFACTURERS INSIGNIA
If the insignia or logo of the manufacturer
is displayed on the sail, it must be above the sail number.
11.
MAST
There is no restriction on the size, material
or construction of the mast.
12.
BOOM (WISHBONE)
There is no restriction on the size, material
or construction of the boom.
13.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
There is no limit on additional equipment except
that wire rigging, struts, diamonds and spreaders are forbidden.
14.
CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT
14.1
Clothing and equipment for the purposes of increasing
the weight of the competitor is forbidden.
14.2
If personal buoyancy is prescribed, every competitor
shall wear, above the waist, a jacket, harness or vest with
a minimum buoyancy of 4 kg uninflated, in fresh water. The
buoyancy shall be tested with a metal weight of 4 kg, which
shall remain supported for a minimum of 5 minutes.
15.
ADVERTISING
Advertising is allowed in accordance with current
Appendix G. In World and Continental events a competitor may
be required to display advertising on a board, clothing or
equipment.
16
DISPUTES
16.1
In case of dispute on the Class Rules the decision
of an organising authority after taking advice from their
appointed measurer shall be final.
16.2
The official language shall be English and in
any dispute over the text, the English text shall prevail.
