40 Personal Buoyancy
When flag Y is displayed before or with the warning signal,
competitors shall wear life-jackets or other adequate personal
buoyancy while racing. Wet suits and dry suits are not constitute
adequate personal buoyancy.
41 Outside Help
A competitor may not change equipment or receive outside assistance
while afloat after the preparatory signal. Caddies may not
be in the course or starting area during the races of all
divisions. The course and starting areas shall be posted on
the Official Notice Board together with the Course Diagram.
Competitors whose caddies fail to keep clear of these areas
shall be protested.
42 Propulsion
A board shall be propelled only by the action of the wind
on the sail, by the action of the water on the hull and by
the unassisted actions of the competitor.
43 Competitors Clothing and Equipment
43.1 Competitors
shall not wear or carry clothing or equipment for the purpose
of increasing their weight.
43.2 Only if
specified in the sailing instructions, a drinking container
may be worn or carried by a competitor. The container shall
be capable of carrying not more than 1 litre of fluid and
shall not weigh more than 1.5 kg. when full.
