T - IFCA Championship Rules
These rules amend and are additional to
the FRR which apply.
T1 ORGANISATION
T1.1 World,
Continental and National Series championships shall only be
organised by or with the approval of the International Funboard
Class Association (IFCA). Approval shall only be given to
National Authorities and recognised National Associations.
Where neither of the above organises a national event in a
particular country, approval may be given to a National Organiser
by IFCA.
T1.2 The
World Tour is organised by the Professional Windsurfers Association
(PWA) an organisation working closely with IFCA. IFCA Champions
have an automatic entry into PWA sanctioned events according
with PWA rule 10.
T2 ENTRY REQUIREMENT
T2.1 At World
and Continental Championships the maximum number of entries
per division is: 80 Men, 40 Women, 40 Youths (under 19 years
of age on the 31st December of the year of the event) and
40 Masters (35 years of age or over, on
31st December of the year preceding the event)..
T2.2 World and
European Championships only. The allocation of places to each
country shall be based on the following.
(a) A minimum
of three Men, two Women, two Masters and two Youths from each
country which organises a multi event qualifier series for
IFCM boards. The final figure will be determined by the Executive
Committee of IFCA.
(b) One Man, one Woman, one Master
and one Youth from each country not complying with 1.2.2.(a).
Additional (Custom Board) competitors may be accepted only
in the event of insufficient IFC competitors applying for
available places.
(c) Qualifying competitors must be
chosen directly from the top competitors in the IFC National
Ranking table. Only in exceptional cases may a national boardsailing
association selection committee vary this rule, and only with
the approval of the IFCA Executive. Qualifying competitors
must be permanently resident or nationals of the country proposing
them.
(d) A copy of the National Series
results from each National Association or Authority shall
be sent to IFCA upon request.

(f) Every Competitor shall be a member
of a National Authority, or a National Association recognised
by IFCA, or a windsurfing/sailing club recognised by its National
Authority.
(g) The final decision on allocation
of places shall be that of the President of IFCA.
(h) The current World and Continental
Champions shall be entitled to defend their titles.
(i) National Authorities and Associations
are required to pay an annual subscription to IFCA, before
a competitors entry will be accepted.
T2.3
PWA sanctioned events: The first 5 men and 10 women in the
previous IFCA World Championships have automatic entry into
PWA events in accordance with PWA rules. The National Associations
in the country where the PWA event takes place also has 2
Wild Card entries. IFCA competitors must become PWA members
before the places can be allocated. These rules maybe amended
in 1997.
T3 FEES
T3.1 The
fee is DM.120 per year, per National Association or National
Authority plus DM.150 per competitor participating in the
Racing Worlds (excluding those qualifying under 1.2.2 (H))
and 50 DM per competitor for all other IFCA-Championships.
Payment of IFCA fees are the sole responsibility of the National
Association or Authority. Where no National Authority or Association
nominates a competitor, the IFCA Executive may accept entries
from that country, direct from individuals, provided the sum
of DM.150 per competitor has been paid.
