CHANGES IN THE ISAF FUNBOARD RACING RULES FOR 2000

The Following changes have been approved by ISAF at the 1999 Conference.

IFCA Funboard Championships may have the Shorten Course and Penalty Turn rules written out by amendments in the Sailing Instructions.

FFR 20. Change title to Starting Error; Moving Astern; Penalty Turns.

And add:

20.3 A board making penalty turns shall keep clear of one that is not.

FRR 21.1 Capsized Boards

Delete first two words 'If possible'.

FFR 22 Not Racing - Interfering with another Board.

Delete 'Not Racing' from title.

Change current 22.2 to 22.3

Add 22.2 'A board shall not deliberately interfere with a board making penalty turns'.

FFR 32 Abandoning after the start.

Change title to read: Shortening or Abandoning after the Start.

32.1 First sentence. Add after 'may', 'Shorten or'.

FFR 43.2 Drinking Container.

Delete ' Only if specified in the sailing instructions'.

FFR 44 Add 'Penalties for breaking Rules of Part 2'.

44.1 Taking a Penalty

A board that may have broken a rule of part 2 while racing may take a penalty at the time of the incident. It's penalty shall be a 360° Turn Penalty. However if the board caused serious damage or gained a significant advantage in the race or series by the breach, it shall retire.

44.2 360° Turn Penalty

After getting well clear of other boards as soon after the incident as possible, a board takes a 360° Turn Penalty by promptly making one complete 360° turn. When the board takes the penalty at or near the finishing line, the board shall return completely to the course side of the line before finishing.

 

Protest Requirements

61.1(a) Change 'as soon as reasonably possible' to read 'immediately'.
